Individual Counselling
Individual Counselling

Individual counselling is a one-on-one therapeutic process designed to help you explore personal challenges, develop coping strategies, and foster personal growth. In these sessions, you will work directly with me as your therapist, focusing entirely on your unique concerns. Whether you’re dealing with anxiety, depression, stress, life transitions, or other emotional difficulties, individual counselling provides a safe, confidential space to talk openly and receive support without judgment.

As a social worker in private practice, I am trained in a variety of evidence-based therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and Person-Centered Therapy, among others. Each session is tailored to your needs, allowing us to work through issues at your own pace. Our goal together is to help you understand underlying patterns, process emotions, and build resilience. The counselling process encourages self-reflection and insight, empowering you to make positive changes in your life.

My approach to individual counselling is collaborative and client-centered. I believe in working together to create a treatment plan that addresses your goals, whether that involves overcoming challenges, improving emotional well-being, or gaining clarity on life decisions. By providing personalized support, I aim to help you navigate your struggles and achieve meaningful, long-lasting change.

Therapy for Children
Play Therapy

Therapeutic services offered for children include play therapy and sand tray therapy.  Gestalt play-based therapy is a therapeutic approach that uses play to help children express and process their emotions in a safe, natural way. In this therapy, play becomes a means for children to explore their feelings, experiences, and challenges in a non-verbal and non-judgmental environment. I guide children through interactive activities that allow them to work through emotions and behaviors, fostering self-awareness and helping them understand how to connect with others. Gestalt play-based therapy empowers children to process difficult feelings and build resilience, giving them tools to manage emotional challenges and navigate life with confidence.

Sand tray therapy is another powerful, creative form of therapy that I provide, allowing both children and adults to express complex emotions using sand and miniature figures. In this process, clients build “worlds” in the sand that reflect their inner experiences, concerns, and dreams. The images and scenes created in the sand offer a tangible way to explore feelings that may be difficult to verbalize, enabling a deeper level of self-exploration and insight. Sand tray therapy is especially useful for those who have experienced trauma, as it offers a safe distance for expressing and processing difficult memories or emotions.

Both Gestalt play-based therapy and sand tray therapy emphasize the importance of client-centered, expressive healing, where individuals of all ages are given the freedom to explore and reflect at their own pace. In my practice, I combine these therapeutic techniques to create a warm, supportive space where clients feel understood and empowered. By engaging with therapy in this creative and interactive way, children and adults alike are better able to access and address underlying issues, build self-esteem, and develop effective coping strategies for a more balanced and fulfilling life.

Mental Wellness
Mental  Wellness Care

Mental wellness care services are dedicated to supporting individuals who have been diagnosed with a mental illness, as well as their families. A diagnosis of a serious psychiatric condition can be overwhelming, and adapting to the associated challenges often feels daunting for both the individual and their loved ones. I offer a supportive, compassionate space where clients and families can explore their concerns, ask questions, and receive guidance to better understand and manage the mental health journey. Through ongoing sessions, I work with clients to build coping skills, set realistic goals, and foster resilience in the face of new challenges.

For family members, the experience of supporting a loved one with a psychiatric disability can bring its own set of emotional difficulties, often accompanied by confusion, anxiety, and even burnout. My services include psychoeducation and emotional support for families, helping them understand the nature of mental illness, treatment options, and practical ways they can be supportive. I provide families with tools to improve communication, reduce stress, and approach the situation with empathy, promoting a more balanced and cohesive family environment. Psychoeducation is a key element in reducing stigma and misunderstandings, empowering family members to feel more informed and capable of supporting their loved one.

My approach emphasizes the psychosocial well-being of both the person diagnosed and their family, focusing on strategies that promote long-term emotional health and stability. By working together, clients and families learn to adapt to the changes that come with a mental health diagnosis, while also building a network of support within their relationships. Through compassionate guidance, I help create a space where healing, understanding, and positive growth can flourish, supporting both the individual and family as they navigate this challenging path.
